In 2013, the Kent County Health Department reported a surge in flu cases, prompting FOX17 to launch an informational campaign on the outbreak and prevention tips. As a designer in the Creative Services Department, I was tasked with developing a cohesive graphics package for on-air broadcasts, studio monitors, and digital articles.
Inspired by the organic structure of the flu virus, I created a bold, modern logo and selected a blue color palette—a nod to cold medicine branding, reinforcing a serious and informative tone. After approval from the Art Director, I expanded the system into a full suite of digital assets, collaborating with producers, directors, and news anchors to ensure seamless integration across all media.
This project was a formative moment in my career, solidifying my skills in broadcast design, multi-platform adaptation, and design as a problem-solving tool. Even after 13+ years, the design remains relevant, proving the power of thoughtful, strategic creativity.
